75 series T/C in 80 Series

Post by Bazz107 »

Hi,

Does anyone know if a 75 series transfer case will bolt up to 96 80 series GXL Deisel, I want to convert mine to Part-time 4wd and am having trouble finding DX Transfers, Also if it is possible will I still need new tail shaft and can I use the 75 series linkages and Wiring.

thanks
Byron

marks adaptors sell a kit to turn full time 4wd 80's into part time. It has gotta be cheaper than buying a whole transfer case and fitting it.

I have a 73 series and the transfer is gear driven, apparently the 80 series is chain driven - correct me if wrong...

I don't know what a 75 series is though...

Are they really that hard to find, as I was looking at doing this for my next truck?

The only way it would fit is if you also fit the gearbox from the 75 series to the motor. Then you have to resize both of your driveshafts.
