GU front axles+cv's the same lenght as the GQ?!?

Post by Gabriel »

Hi,

who knows if:

- the front axle and CV"s from GU are the same lenght as the GQ?
- if the GU front diff can be mounted in the GQ axle tube? I mean, it should, but only by eye...need advice, please.

Because, if they are the same lenght and the GU diff can be mounted in the GQ tube, it means that in order to upgrade to a GU front the only things that must be solutioned are the oil sealers inside the axle tube...

many thanks, Gabi

Great!! It means that if I weld the GU axle housing ends to the GQ housing, I will be able to use the same axle housing, the ring&pinion I have with the GU axles...Isn't?!

At least, the GU cv's are so good as the people sais?!?

Not sure if that will work, I'de change the whole diff, Well Im doing the exchange shortly, you get a better turning circle with the GU, I know you can use the GQ centre in the GU with 1 mod .........Sound easier to do the whole exchange to me....Less Drama....Less chance for breakage also.
