Im doin the sump gasket soon enough, just found out no gasket exists and you have to use goo...
anyways check out the pic, i would like to know what the 2 seals on either end are all about, and whether they need replacing or if you can get them...
Let me know if you know anything bout this one would be a big help

rob, you can use the type of gasket that comes in a tube. says to leave a 1/8" bead all the way around the oil pan and then you put it on. ive done this and no dramas so far. the end pieces that your talking about are made of some compound that you can reuse as long as they are not cracked and are in decent shape. if they're not, then you gotta replace em because then once you fix the gasket, it'll jus leak out of the next weak spot.

Anyone know what you would call these "end pieces"? i asked the bloke at rares today he had no idea... I suspect that may be the source of my leak...the end pieces that your talking about are made of some compound that you can reuse as long as they are not cracked and are in decent shape.
