I worked standard serria coils out to be bout 84 lb/in Is this some where near right or do I have my measurments wrong?
Its a wheelbase thing

Sounds way soft to me. My Kings coils are 150lb/in (from memory) and they are pretty soft.

Hang on, maybe mine are 175... can't remember exactly, but 84 sounds way soft.

i think it sounds close.

looking at the coils they use 9mm wire and 8 turns, and measure 290mm.


the coils on the rear of yours damo and the mud4b have thicker wire and more turns and length..

equation I used-

11 250 000(torsional modules for steel) x coil spring wire dia.(inches) to the power of 4
___________________________________________________
8 (consant)X number of active coils x mean(average) coil dia (inches)to the power of 3


This is a standard serria coil

11250000x.36 to the power of 4
____________________________
8x 7 x 3.28 to the power of 3




I think my maths were right.
Its a wheelbase thing

I have some other springs worked out with 11 mm wire and 75mm dia they are 151 lb- inch

Yeah I just remembered the coils on mine are inboard further than a stock coily, so that'll make them "appear softer".

84 sounds way to soft :shock:

i think most kits in the states run 175
150 has to much body roll
