I have a Piranha but I am slowly narrowing it down to it being the cause of a heat based idle issue I have. I am thinking of switching to the Petronix Ignitor as it all fits in the dizzy and doesn't have an external box like the Piranha. http://www.pertronix.com

What about the Jaycar ignition kit? It uses your points only as a trigger switch and can be dual-mapped as well if you have dual fuel ie more advanced for gas.

Not very expensive at all.

Hi Screwy
Have a Crane Cams unit on mine.Took about 1 hr to remove points and condensor to fit.Uses original coil & resistor etc. No problems touch wood.
$199 retail $160 trade is what i paid for it.

Just grab the genuine nissan condenser and a set of points. I tried the non gen ones and they were crap, started playing up at arround 1500 km. genuine is only 14 dollard and come with loom for condenser. No probs since.

I'm looking to adapt a Delco (holden VN) computer to my TB42 on gas. I will be running the adjustable kalmaker software so i can modify the map to suit. I havn;t yet decided if i'll run a V8 module with single coil, or the multi coil pack like on a VR V6....
I plan to run straight LPG, and also turbo it, so the delco will give me great advance at cruise, and also be able to pull some timing out under boost. It will also have cold start maps and idle air control.
I plan to start putting bit together over the next week or 2, if someone else is interested, i could put another one together at the same time.
It will not be as cheap as a straight transistor set-up thou.
Approx $1200-but spark quality and tunability will be excellent.
