sounds like a booster problem. check the vac line.

you could have stuffed the booster from the extra pedal travel when bleeding the brakes. i would imagine it was about to die soon anyway.

yeah i agree with popeye that would most likely be the prob when you bleed brakes you should only pump the pedal as far as it would travel under normal breaking i always roll the floor mat under the brake pedal to stop it when bleeding

I think you mean the Mater Cylinder, take it out and take it to bits and see if the seals in are cut or damaged.

if at some time water has got into the booster the seal suface will rust and when you over stroke the pedal the seal contacts the rusted area and wrecks the seal causing vacuum to leak well actually allow air in from atmosphere

If it was MC it would be a spongy pedal wanting to go to the floor

Sounds like the booster.... Is it like trying to brake whitout the motor running ??

I had/have a similiar problem, my brakes sometimes worked and sometimes not. , it always made the hissing sound though (not sure if this is normal). When it didn't I could put my foot all the way to the gound , and the cor would brake very slowly. Anyway, my MC was so bad i needed it resleeved, and new seals. anyway 170 bucks, it's back together and ready to go into the car 2morro, so well see how i go
