Bearings in Alternator are cactus. Looking for a rebuild or replacement. can anyone recommend anyone good and cheap. Looking for a balance of both. I'm in East Brisbane.

go to an auto sparky with the old brushes and ask for a new pair. approx $10. solder in new brushes, reassemble alternator, whiz bang good as new for less than a slab.

What type of Toyota. I know where you can get a brand new alternator for HJ61 Landcruiser (after market but exactly the same) for about $400.00 instead of $1500 genuinie.benhl wrote:Hi Guys!

Its a 94 hilux, 22R petrol. Keep the ideas coming though.
Need to get back on the road asap so need a quick fix but will probably replace bearings etc and have a spare when i get a chance.
