pull it apart, take the bearings to a bearing shop and ask them to match them. $20 ish.benhl wrote:Hi Guys!

go to an auto sparky with the old brushes and ask for a new pair. approx $10. solder in new brushes, reassemble alternator, whiz bang good as new for less than a slab.
Free air locker to the first 20 callers!

What type of Toyota. I know where you can get a brand new alternator for HJ61 Landcruiser (after market but exactly the same) for about $400.00 instead of $1500 genuinie.benhl wrote:Hi Guys!

it's $30 and 2 hours - it doesn't get any cheaper and faster!dumbdunce wrote: pull it apart, take the bearings to a bearing shop and ask them to match them. $20 ish.

Roger that! its not rocket science, pulling it out of the car is harder than rebuilding it!dumbdunce wrote:benhl wrote: Basically looking for a cheap quick solution at the momentit's $30 and 2 hours - it doesn't get any cheaper and faster!dumbdunce wrote: pull it apart, take the bearings to a bearing shop and ask them to match them. $20 ish.
