Just wanted to know if anyone has built a mini buggy? kid sized. super compact! Maybe a bit dangerous for kids but small adults would have a ball :D
What i was thinking:

* either swb sierra chassis or custom built
* SPOA super flat springs
* sierra NT or WT diffs which ever is cheapest at the time
* running 30's 31's on flipped rims
* welded front and rear diffs

Now what i want to know is how small can this be, whats the shortest setup:
* 1L engine 4speed Gbox 1L transfer
* 1.3L enigne 5speed gbox 1.3l transfer
* or a combination of any
The reason for short chassis lenght is because it would be running 30-31's due to its rather weak diffs.
Also how narrow can the chassis rails be in regards to the steering??

Also with the mounting of the engine Gbox and X-fer so far forward out of reach of driver just make short shifters and leave it in 1st and low 4, has anyone done this or seen somthing like it done??

A guy on pirate did a similar thing. Think he used a smaller than normal engine, maybe a motorbike engine. Basically a 4wd go cart.

Why not buy a rusted out 1.0ltr Sierra and toobe it.

Yeah thats probably the best idea, Just a tiny thing running tyres that wont require larger difs or gearing, then minimise everything possible, is it possible to shorten the shaft between the gearbox and the X-fer?? purly offroad so it doesnt have to drive at speeds. Got a link to the one on pirate??

was thinkin the same thing my son is 10 months old but would love to make sothing for him like that when he gets bigger. thought of makin a mini mini buggy for when hes 2. using a electric motor.

Thats cool wish someone would just do it all for me too :D could be a new craze like the pit bikes these are pit buggy's. ill be looking to start somthing like this after ive got mine on the road.

for sure they made those mini hot rods as well. do you know how they made them what motor they used

would be sick to have full diffs locked roll cage would be envy of all the kids on the block. better then those shitty plastic electric cars

Thats pretty cool but that's far too much weight for a little Honda 300cc engine to push. The weight of those diffs would be more than a whole duadbike.

No reason why the old oddysey style rollcage couldnt be combined with a 4wd quadbike setup though.

I dunno about you guys but a 4x4 type setup with one of these should keep using ATV tyres but just go bigger.

Stock ground clearance on a Wolverine 350/450 is 8.7" or 220mm - roughly the same ground clearance as a patrol anyway on 23" tyres.

You can get ATV Super Swamper :cool: Vampires up to 28" so that's about 285mm clearance.

That should be plenty of fun for the kids - and the adults too.

seen that one on pirate thats going to be extreme. i was thinkin half scale crawler have to put my thinkin cap on for this one. if i had the cash i would get a 4by and miniture all the bits (tell me im dreamin).

but the atv idea sounds good all set up just build the body and away he goes this is going to be fun
