Price on a Thermo fan
Out of curiosity whats a 12inch Davis Craig, or other reputable brand of thermo fan worth? and brand suggestions?
and whats everyones thoughts on what side of the radiator is most beneficial?
looking at maybe keepign engine fan and putting a thermo on the front?
still running standard 2F.
And if i got one that was designed to drawing air and be positioned on the back of the radiator, any downsides to flipping it and putting it upfront?
cheers

You would probably find a 12" thermo is not big enough for a cruiser radiator. I had one on my hilux with cruiser radiator and it didnt cover enough area and wasnt up to the cooling task. I bought a 14 " off ebat for around $70 brand new, wasnt a davies craig though, they are fairly expensive. A mate of mine has just put a 307 in his 45 and he used a v6 commo thermo and shroud and it works well and looks the part as well, not sure if you would have enough room with the 6 though.
most thermos these days u can take the blade off and flip it around and run it either way u want.....
u can also switch the wires around the other way, reverse the polarity of the motor for your purpose....
with price it depends on brand and quality, but a 12inch would probably do very little to help u in all honesty.....
but id say around the $100 to $150 mark for a good one.
screwy

This mob sell them and list the prices somewhere on their site. My local auto parts store sells the 16" one for 299. With 12" you would probably be best to use two.

dont put it in front as it just restricts air. been there b4 and it did less than a stock fixed fan without a shroud. make sure you use a propper temp switch so ya dont forget to switch it on but install a manual switch so ya can turn it off for water crossings.

But are they Davies Craig Fans or not...? That is what he is asking about mainly...RoeDao wrote:you can buy 16" fans on ebay for $160 and they work ok...... i have one on mine and it works and cools nicely
I mean, all comments are welcome, but DC are his preferred type...
My 16" DC was just under $300 and it works a treat... I am yet to get the skinny's on it and work it hard at a burnout comp, but that should be happening soon.
I'll let you know how it goes at 5000 RPM for sustained periods of time...
