I have an HJ61 Land cruiser with hubs I can't stop leaking because there is a wear mark on the axle itself. When I put the new seal in I had to take a small amount of the spring out of the seal so it would have a tighter seal around the axle. This worked for a couple of months but because of the seal wear on the axle it was bound to start leaking again, I have to replace the axles to stop it leaking for another 10 years My point is make a good inspection of your axles before replacing them into the diff, if they have wear marks a new seal wont fix it.

I have a mate who is a diff and gearbox specialist mechanic and he said you can't get speedy sleeves for the 60 series. However if you know where I can get them from, I would be most appreciative

ask them if they are familiar with the job, and how long do they think it will take. anything more than 4 hours is wrong - as ruff has suggested it should only take about an hour a side, and you know what the kit is worth.fish_man wrote:mmm, i have been told that shops charge between 7-800 for the job drive in drive out. i'll give a couple of joints a ring tommorrow and compare.

Hi all. Ah, what a great site. I just found it and already its helping me out. I've got the same problem with my BJ. I got a quote the other day to get them done for $800. I'm starting to think that i might give it a go myself.
