Betya hilux or 121 wont go where ya patrol will and ya prado will break its cv's or fr diff. I like driving driving my wifes 121 around town too, but give me my 3.o auto GU on the highway any day, let alone switch on the fr diff lock and i'll see ya DAT later.
Lets keep apples with apples. Wish they'd put the mazda glove box in the patrol but.

Thats my thoughts too.rOd wrote:I sometimes drive a VRX Magna and totally enjoy that! But when I jump back on my SWB GQ its like, coming back home.AJ wrote: Definately an aquired taste though.
My Patrol can sit in the shed for up to a month while I drive my car around and its a hell of a culture shock to get back in the GU, but in a short time its all good.
Cars can be fun but offoad is where its at

I bet you're mates with that tool that has a Troopy that can do 180km/hr too huh?? Best you run along back to your sandpit before someone notices you're missing!if only nisans had real engines to pull them the 4.2 turbo's a joke my 1hz goes around it, and as far as durabilty goes thers a reason knowone buys nisans in the bush. toyotas outnumber them 10/1.
Re: engins
The idea is torque not speed , and notice that everyone is using patrol diffs as toyota make there weak as piss .known 2 wrote:if only nisans had real engines to pull them the 4.2 turbo's a joke my 1hz goes around it, and as far as durabilty goes thers a reason knowone buys nisans in the bush. toyotas outnumber them 10/1.
I have to swap from my '89 Patrol (TD42) to my girlfriends new Mazda 3 quite frequently. Every time I do, it takes me a good while to get used to it again. The gearstick throw feels like it's about a centimetre, there's absolutely no feedback through the clutch (resulting in roughly a 50/50 split between high revving takeoffs and almost-stalls.....) and every time I hit the brakes I think I'm going to put us through the windscreen It's wierd, but it seems much easier to go back the other way after I've been driving the Mazda a lot.
