has anyone had problems with breaking RR engine mounts

is there anything you can do to to lenghten the life of the standard RR mounts :?:

i think your cure is to use jag v12 engine mounts. from what I understand they just bolt straight on although I have not had the problem personally.

yeah they do. ring greame cooper he sells them.
Jag ones are 4" diamtre compared to rover 3"

They won't fit the gearbox mounts though (not enough room)

do you have extractors, cause when i fitted mine they come orfully close to the rubber mounts which deteriated very quickly and the heat made them very brittle and would give the flex or bit of give

i've welded chain links to my chassis and mounts and used chain and shackles to stop excess flex as the motor tries to twist in the chassis,and from hitting big bumps to stop engine from lifting too far.that way if your mounts are shot the engine won't move.prolongs their life if heat and oil aren't a problem.

I have no oil or heat problems the mount lasted about 6-8 weeks

The chain sounds like a good option

QT has these and the bushings can be replaced.

Don't replace it with the Repco poly urethane ones. Didn't last long at all.
