Ratios

Post by Shorty40 »

I have a 253 V8, 4 speed, 35s and 4.11s at the moment.

She sits on about 2400rpm @ 100kph.

Gearing seems OK for wheeling (rock crawling) with the 35s. Could be a little lower.

How will my car run with 37s ? What should I change the ratios to ? I still want to be able to do more than 80 kph.

I am more worried about losing crawling ability :( My clutch doesn't like it :D

I was thinking diff ratios are cheaper than crawler gears, so try that first.

What ratio would I need on 37s to get about the same (or lower 8) ) crawl ratio as I have now on 35s and 4.11s ?
