Couldn't get any pics of the windscreen overhead compartment (just too much background glare), but you can imagine what it looks like, judging from the other pics.

I still have to install the rear door panels, ply and black carpet overlay.
Did you notice much noise deadening with the roof "carpet" ? mine drums lots.
Mine's fairly quiet, prolly moreso because of the overhead storage compartments. Also heat and noise deadening material in footwells and cab side of firewall and gearbox tunnel.

No, my roof had the original white cloth fabric with foam underlay, (remember I've had this rig for around 15 years), and the interior was bare panel with no improvments, I've built it all myself.

@TX4000: thanks, seems like it is cold, here it is a bit summer

2 months ago i buy a nice F50 for almost nothing in the Netherlands, he is a bit rusty but drives well.
Image
Now he is growning to my new (old) extreme off-road beast, i cut a bit metal to fit my 35" tyres, i change the axles with axles from a F20 (3.545 to 4.777).
I must cut on the back a bit because the former owner made him 30cm longer, and than i have to paint him a nice color

When he is finished i send more pics.

Very nice Gonzo! It seems you have an eye for bargains. You're gonna get the rear back to the original size, or just cut it off and make a trayback out of it. What about flex, no problems with the tires being cut by the wheelarches.

Groeten,
Ron

BTW, still got that fender flares andwanna part with them, mine are crumbling to dust :x :x

Well it needs paint bad... and either Fire engine red or flouro green are the only colours I like... black just wont cut it.. too many ripples, and camo would be too hard to do to a good standard... will do the body last however, I need to do the front hubs, got the rego so it can wait, $500 bux for 1 year... sux... I use it every other weekend and 90% of that time its offroad. I got my new lights but not enough room on the bull bar, so redesign time I have a few ideas and a pipe bender so will see what takes shape.

If you need any specs or manual info, I have an 18R manual here - genuine toyota complete manual.

I'm still working on those pics of the bell extension and mounts.

Is that for the rover conversion?

You first have to determine if the gearbox and tranny stay in the same place. Then put the engine in, supporting it with a hoist and bolt it to the gearbox. Now youknow the locations of the mounts. Rest depends on the motormounts on the new donk, whether you can use the old daihatsu bracketry combined with the rover baracket ore vice versa, or weld one up yourself using some industrial rubber cut to fit. Coupleo fguys here used poly bushes as engine mounts but they seem to get a lot of vibes in the cab. That's how I should do it

cheers

Edit:
remember seeing some custom mount ideas based on shackle bushings in the members- or zook section. can't remember from who though.. try a search over there

yeah it for the rover V8!

im just tryin to build up a bit of knoledge on what will be involved and what parts i need to get or make.

so engine mounts are basicly rubber. ill do some research and see what i come up with.

i need to get some prices on what its gona const for a bell housing converter to be made. im thinkin ill need to go to a hot rod shop i guess.

cheers
