Does the G52 bolt straight up to the Toyota 4runner V6 and does the cross member need to be modified ?

But notice he mentions a 86 Turbo pickup
The 86/87 22RE Turbo in the US came with a R151 and a gear transfer so yes its a factory bolt up, but only available in the US if you can track one down.
I imported a complete 87 R151 Turbo trans and gear transfer with this setup but by the time it landed it cost a fortune.

Do you still have a photo of the housing I was making if so can you post it for me please
I was cutting the rear housing on a R151 and a G52 machining true welding a 10 mm aluminium plate onto the R151 half of the housing machining true again then welding the G52 half and then final machining
A lot of work by hand
I then had 23 to 21 spline couplers made to suit the 2 different splines
The over all length was 15mm shorter and the gearbox mount picked up on the original bolt holes
I also made a short shift that was 110mm total shift

Some import Surf's (ie 2LT-II) had the R151 and gear transfer. I saw one with my own eyes- contact NICK.zerosin wrote:r151 bolts up but you'll need an adapter and an input shaft to use the gear driven transfer
Otherwise the turbo Bundy had R151 with cruiser t/case as do the newer 79/ 100 series, but the cruiser tcase has offset rear output of course.
r151 bolts to 4runner v6...chain transfer from sr5 g52 bolts but need to change input shaft...r151 has chain drive standard in oz..to bolt gear transfer to r151 need adapter plate and input shaft. g52 wont bolt up and is too weak for v6 anyway.. if you find an import r151 with gear driven T/case ..grab it
