I was thinking about letting my spotter drive the remaining stages and bring it home for me.

Spectators

Post by vanbox »

What time will the event kick off on saturday, i am thinking of heading out on friday night?

also, how spectator friendly is it? and will more than one event be run at a time, so we will miss out on some action

i have got up to about 30 people going, and there has been a lot of talk about WEROCK on the coast, so it could be pretty big.

Sam (Werock Organisor) is away for the next few days as he is down in Sydney organising stages for the WEROCK finals at Milbrodale. I should however be able to help you out with most of your questions.

The stages usually starts around about 9.30- 10.00ish, this i am not 100% sure of but if you aim for that time you won't miss anything. There will be information handouts (with the correct and updated info) at the LCMP main office that will show you where the events are (all in one area) and what times everything will be running too.

There will be more than one stage been run at anyone time. Most of the stages are very short (no longer than 30 metres or so) and the stages are all close together (maybe 50 metres apart max). More than one stage is run at a time to allow the competitors to complete all stages and it also allows for non stop action all day. No waiting to clear a stage when someone rolls or breaks.

The areas are fairly open and easy access for spectators to all the areas. The action is non stop, and it won't take you long to work out which stages are producing exciting driving and which drivers are putting it on for the crowds. Yes you will miss out on some drives, but like i said you will tend to find a favorite stage or a favorite (exciting) driver to follow.

You will need to take camping chairs and i would also suggest a shade shelter ( although there is plenty of trees about) they just come in handy.

There will be catering (hot food and cold drinks) there for lunch both days.

There will also be signs to show spectators how to get to the event site (very easy to find).

I am not sure if you have been to a WEROCK event yet, but all the action is very close and you can even walk around the buggies and chat to the teams when they are been staged.

Hope to see you and all your mates there, come up and say HI. :)

Yep, i will be there for sure. Attempting to make it three in a row :finger:

I have a few things to do on my rig but mainly just little things.

Made a new sump for the engine today, re-run a few wires, fit new hydro tank and over flow catch can, replace a few seals and a fiddle with a few secrets bits, but i won't give them away. :D

Oh and thanks to my major sponsor Mickey Thompson tyres, i should have a pretty bling paint job too.

you will have some stiff competition. I drank till i passed out 3 times in 2 days at tufftruck. I won't be competing in the drinking comps unless bingham is there so save me though. i recon he must have stopped me falling like 50 times. also saved be from a few blues mouthing off how good qld was to the nsw boys near our camp.

no i will never repeat that. drinking too much is silly ;)
