I've never heard of birfield rings being made for a Narrow Track, nor have i heard of them being made in Australia.

The closest i can get is suggesting Spidertrax in the states - they sell them for about $50US each.

You should be able to find replacement CV/Axels for around 100 dollars or less so you may find that a cheaper option.

cheers,

NT/WT same?

Post by Damo »

AFAIK the birfs in a NT and WT are the same, it'll only be the length of the inner axle shaft that differs.

Not sure about the 1 litre diffs though, but if the differences in ring & pinions (compared to WT/NT) are anything to go by the 1 litre birfs will be a little smaller and not compatible with NT/WT. Can anyone confirm that for us?

The birfs in a 1 litre are a fair bit smaller then 1.3 WT/NT

Stressed

I have made Birfield Rings for a WT.. Just shrink fitted them on to the CV..

Pretty easy to make, just used some high tensile steel.

Fourwheelin was sellin them. dunno if they are gone yet..
