gq panhard chassis mount
gq panhard chassis mount
Hey quick question
is it possible to buy (from where??) the mount to weld onto the chassis on the front for the panhard rod ?
reason im askin is cause i have a cracked chassis and to weld/plate it i need to remove the panhard mount.. but its not in the best shape either so im wonderin if i can buy from say ni$$an or somewhere else just the mount itself
that way i can cut mine off... weld up the cracks in the chassis and plate it then weld on the new mount
Cheers

Yeah, I just snaped mine the other week. All I did was get a mate who is handy with a MIG and got him to weld it all up and brace it a little. I then found a bracket that bazzle was talking about from a wrecker which cost $50. Havent seen one break with the gusseted bracket yet so they must do there job.
yeah mate i have one of those brackets too mine is an 89 mod.
if you are going to all that trouble make sure you drop the pivot height to suit your draglink angle if you truck is lifted.

From what I read on the internet hahah (probably not true then), in some thread regarding recalls and nissan, if your car suffers from say cracked front panhard chassis mount you can take it back to the dealer for that particular recall and they have to fix it ??
Is that true or full of shee ight ??

i would get pics but i got no camera so ill describe it the best i can
it cracks from the top of the rail to the bottom in a / sorta way,, then along the bottom edge of the rail behind the panhard mount and then branches up around the bolt holes on the front half of teh steering box... all cracks are on the inside of the drivers side rail
so would it be safe/strong to just weld what i can get to then plate it and buy that brace to bolt on???
im running 38's and intend on comping it so it needs to be strong
