Detachable Mudflaps

Hi.
I am planning on doing a rear quarter panel chop in the next month or so and afterwards I will need mudflaps. I want to put detachable ones on so they dont get ripped off.

The question is:
How exactly have people attached them to make them quickly detached?

I was thinking something along the lines of a piano hinge with a removable pin.
Or maybe bolts with wing nuts.

Ideas?

attach a chain on them so you can just lock them in out of the way....I just use a small ubolt on some light gauge gal chain from bunnings

Yeah I will have a chain aswell, but I don't want to just pull them up out of the way. I want to take them off completely.

sail track and one bolt with a wing nut would wok well. undo the nut and bolt and slide off

i had 2 regular hinges, a long pin made out of round bar and an r clip to hold it in. then small d shackle on the chain. done

square tube post and another square tube that has a ID slightly bigger than the OD of the post. ie one slides into the other

a bolt and wing nut to stop it sliding off

mine were over a meter long thats why i removed them!

i had a clevis pin and r clip on an L bracket off the chassis too to keep the ally firm

I use the sail track , and think it's the ducks, Stay in till I want em out, and when that happens i can get all four out in seconds...

Bad idea, cop's will pull it as unroadworthy.
