engine mount help

Post by Rascal »

I have a 84 4runner which I need to move the engine mounts forward to suit a deisel, problem is not sure excactly how far forward. If someone could measure from the top of the crossmember to the bottom edge of the engine mount as shown in the pic it would be much appreciated.

I've just done a swap from a 3Y to a later petrol engine and found out that you need to get the engine mounts out of the same chassis as the motor that you're fitting. If you're fitting a 2.8 get the mounts out of a LN106. If you've got a solid axle make sure you get corresponding mounts, as IFS is different.
