Dove tail

Post by DeWsE »

Just looking at this site and thought it would be good on here as their isn't much info around about it. I think as people in oz start building bigger rigs people may be more interested in this sort of approach to wheelbase.

I certainly think their should be more of it.

Nice

i was going to do that before my defect notice screwed everything up. Still may do it once its back on the road. I'll then use some TJ extended flares that are emovable for the rear.

Sweet idea grimbo! You lucky coz you already have the LWB chassis

I like it because you could keep it straight as well so that it covers most of the wheels but gives you extended wheelbase. You could also keep it all removable with the body with some simple leaf spring mounts to the chassis and some bushers. I'l try get an example.

I was going to panel mine like that.
That’s why i did the bar work at the back the way that i did. But since its been drivable i never got around to finishing the back off with the fake panels. Hmm, i'm inspired again :D

does look very cool and would be easy enough to flare to keep it legal. Just need some of the wide TJ flares trimmed on an angle so they cover the wheels, probably best to mount them with some nutserts so they are easily removed for offroad

See Shane this is the one I was refering to in my PM...

Pretty simple build if you consider what he has done. Still on standard diffs with 33's. SPOA ruf, 3/4 rear.

What you reckon?
