Interested in a Feroza locker?

Post by murcod »

I found some info on the 4WD Monthly forum about lockers that were apparently made for Ferozas when they were first released. A guy who had one is willing to use his contacts to see if he can get a small production run going again.

So, if you are SERIOUSLY interested in a locker either post here or on the 4WD Monthly forum : http://www.4wdmonthly.com.au/forum/inde ... adid=12206

man i'd be VERY interested in a locker for sure! would put it to VERY good use until i could afford to swap the driveline out. i'm a college student so i'm broke as hell, but if given the opportunity, i'd beg, cry, pout, throw fits, and even steal if i have to in order to come up with the funds for one. meanwhile, i want an LSD! :bad-words:

I am Very interested in getting a locker for my feroza and have registered on the 4wd Monthly forum so that i may reply to the main man there getting us somewhere when it comes to lockers. This sounds very cool and i think that we would have no worries getting more people interested  :)

Yes, register with 4WD monthly forum and post your interest if you're serious and have some spare cash. I'd be keen, but realistically I wouldn't get enough use from it and need the $$$ for other things.

I'm very interested in finding a locker. My inlaws just had their front diff welded, haven't tried it yet going for a run this weekend. So far this has been the only way to get more traction. Hope this all works out because I don't really want to trade in for a bigger 4x4. The feroza is a good little car and quite underestimated.

I've just deleted a couple of chit chat posts to make it clearer how many people are interested.

15 is the number needed , and no they won't fit an Aussie Rocky.

No. Go have a read of the thread in 4WD Monthly, it's not definite thing and 15 people with firm interest would be needed before anything like price/availability can be sorted out.

Ok mate, ease up....

I've read it and nowhere is there even the mention of a ball park for a price...I'm very interested but it does depend to some extent on the price...

I was just wondering if there had been anyword of a price in PM's or emails that anyone may have received behind the scenes that was not on either of the forums...

thanks anyways,

I'm still very interested!

:? What the? I was just answering the question!?

There have been no private PM's between myself and Peter. My guess is price will be slightly more than the RRP of a production locker. But I doubt very much the whole thing will get off the ground- 15 people for a start, and the company needs to be persuaded to do a limited production run.

How're the numbers going people?? I think it still looks like only nine definitely inerested, but I could be wrong. I did float the idea thru the back door but they only said, "mmm, get enough people and we'll look at it!!" I asked how many was enough to get it done for sure, and the response had something to do with a piece of string and the noise of a cash register!!

My educated guess on price would ceratinly be more than $1200 and less than $2000, but it is a guess at this stage. The diff centres themselves are readily available, its getting the end fittings with splines and crown wheel support facings of the right size that take the time/effort/$$ If its a once off for Tractech, and the likelihood of some breakages, due to the SWB and weakish drive train, they may not judge it a good investment!
