Post by DamTriton »

Lockers for your Rocsta??? Sportage???? Some rears and all fronts of Korando, Musso, Rexton??? yes they are available!!! :D :D :D

TF lockers in South Korea make them. If there is enough interest in them (20 units total) I will organise a shipment, ~$450-500 each, landed. (320000 Won + S/H). If there is not 20 units in total price goes up ~$120 (420000 Won + S/H).

Somewhere in SK there are lower R&P sets too...

Rocsta 1997 model rear locker for me, and I think Paul (Rocsta) might be interested in one as well.

Trying to see if there is enough interest in bringing up a seperate order for us, or to be a part of a larger order being organised here (the two stickied TF locker threads). BTW this is where the Kia Sportages live :D

What type of Lockers ......Mechanical or Air???

Post by Templar »

I know that ARB have air lockers for Musso/Korando/rexton as the diffs are Dana's 44 rear and 30's in front. Mechnical lockers are no good for the all wheel drive in petrol models of Ssangyong as they have Full time.

The model year by the time they were complianced in Oz may technically make them a 1999 model. See if you can see a build date sticker or stamping under the bonnet, ie. not the date on the alloy compliance plate.

Mainly South Korean and some common American brands.

Easiest way might be for you to go to Hilux diffs if you have a center rear output, or something like a 40 series or MQ if you have offset rear.

I feel you pain......

lux diffs would be sweet, but unlike sum ppl, i dont have a rocky just do be different, it was all i could afford at the time, and i worked out would be cheaper to buy an old hilux than to put its diffs under mine

DAMKIA:
i had a good look mate but couldnt find anything there cept the metal plate in plain view of the engine bay with 12/99 stamped on it and 'this vehicle made to comply with the manufactutors act of 1989'
must be the compliance plate which means nothing huh.

Ive spent the last half hour searching for when rocsta's where last made, if i can find some form of list regarding the years rocstas where made they may state 98 as the last year.
if so -yay for me, if not -then hopefully theres no difference between the 98 and 99 diffs
I havnt seen any other 99 models so u might be right.

please please :P

HTH for what little it was...

May need daylight and a clean to see any metal chassis/body stamping. generally common areas are around the turret or chassis rail.

As far as I am aware you should still be able to get them thru Tf Lockers. It may be easier to contact a South Korean retailer to purchase them.

If you need translation services, try contacting the Student Union of your nearest University and asking if they have a Korean Student Club - it's surprising what some students will do for a slab. Don't bother with altavista etc, they don't work well with calligraphic languages.
