tie rod ends on steering arms. What thread???

Post by andrew e »

Tried to measure the threads on the tierod ends to make up a new steering arm, and they measured 17.2mm and 1.5mm pitch. Which one are they - metric - 17mm with 1.5mm pitch or imperial - 11/16 (17.4mm) with 16TPI? I'm thinking the later but i thought i'd check.

Does anyone have a left handed tap i can borrow?

Andrew.

Thread is imperial. I have access to a tap but cant lend it out as it belongs to work!! I have made up a set for my RR and they are much better. I could make some rods for you if you like. Same material as MD ones but with 10mm wall instead of 8mm. $100 each plus postage...
