The Patrol Axle Tech Thread !
Hey TLCOR.
You want to buy a pair of Patrol axles?
I´ll be importing a few of them to Sweden soon,´85ish.
You can PM me with your E-mail adress and I´ll get in touch.
The reason for the Dana axles in that 49" shod Patrol is that you can get them really big and strong: 44, 60, 70, 70HD. The 44 probably compares to a Patrol rear.
Personally I´m surprised they didn´t use a pair of Unimog axles for that particular buildup! It would have seemed more fitting.
Ingthorsson.

Hello,
Actually I have my hands on a set of 160-axles. I made this thread to get a overview in strenght, and Ive always been curious about them generally. Besides that I wouldnt have a problem digging up a few Patrol 160s its quite a amount of them here, how about Sweden ? But if could take some pics of them, that'll be cool !

Bling? Bling? Cling.
Hey.
Patrols are rare here in Sweden, at least compaired to Iceland where I come from, and work at the moment.
They´ll be mounting the winter rubber on their rigs up there about now; I´ll try to find the time to take some pics when I go back there.
By the way, what are you planning to build on top of your axles?
Ingthorsson.

A H260 has a flat bottom on the housing and is more elongated (I will take a pic of the one under my patrol) and put it up for you.TLCOR wrote:Damn, I was hoping for a H260 - I cant seem to find them anywhere..

Re: The Patrol Axle Tech Thread !
There is another thread on this site where someone claims that the GU is the stronger axle.
It appears to me, according to this thread, that the H260 is the strongest and that this can be found in MQ's, am I just confused?
What is the strongest Patrol diff setup and what do I get it from?

Re: The Patrol Axle Tech Thread !
ALL H260 Diff Centre are the same strengh, They also share the same size pinion as the H233. H260 axles are much bigger.scottm7 wrote:There is another thread on this site where someone claims that the GU is the stronger axle.

Nissan Changed the material they made axles out of between MQ and GQ. MQ H260 are weak as.
Axle's -
From Factory - H260 is the strongest rear (same pinion bigger axles) GU is the strongest front.
