My brother has done the head on his TB42, and has been looking for a few weeks for another pretty unsucessfully.
Apparently the tb42 heads are prone to cracking ...
Are the TB45 heads any better, and will it go on a Tb42 block
If not anyone know where to pick up a TB42 head in decent nick ...
If it does .. could you point me to find a TB45 head ....

head
Its probably cheaper to buy yourself an entire new motor than to stuff around with replacing the head. Shop around for a decent motor maybe.....should be able to get one for a grand or less. I have a head though if your interested.

I believe they do. A guy I know up Gympie way put a 4.5 head on a 4.2 block and he reckoned it bolted straight on and the thing flew. Interested to hear if anyone else has had the same experience.love_mud wrote:My brother has done the head on his TB42, and has been looking for a few weeks for another pretty unsucessfully.

Head
Apparently they are the same block and the heads "should" bolt straight on.
If you hunt around you can get a 4500 and loon for well under the $3k mark, You will just need a computer.

Found this on the for sale board, why bother with a head replacement when you can have a new motor!
