Head for a TB42 will a tb45 head fit

Post by Guy »

My brother has done the head on his TB42, and has been looking for a few weeks for another pretty unsucessfully.

Apparently the tb42 heads are prone to cracking ...

Are the TB45 heads any better, and will it go on a Tb42 block

If not anyone know where to pick up a TB42 head in decent nick ...
If it does .. could you point me to find a TB45 head ....

Its probably cheaper to buy yourself an entire new motor than to stuff around with replacing the head. Shop around for a decent motor maybe.....should be able to get one for a grand or less. I have a head though if your interested.

I believe they do. A guy I know up Gympie way put a 4.5 head on a 4.2 block and he reckoned it bolted straight on and the thing flew. Interested to hear if anyone else has had the same experience.

Cheers

Apparently they are the same block and the heads "should" bolt straight on.

If you hunt around you can get a 4500 and loon for well under the $3k mark, You will just need a computer.

Found this on the for sale board, why bother with a head replacement when you can have a new motor!
