anyone know somewhere that does them cheap
been to m&s driveshafts and they want $200 and i recon thats a ripoff


need my rear tailshaft lengthened about 7" for a fj40

That sounds about right for lengthening, which is always more expensive.

Give the guys in N. Melb a call (???near the lost dogs home????).

How did you find an extra 7 inches in the rear of a 40?

200 bucks is pretty cheap for a retube and balance would be included aswell, dont forget labour, t/s is not cheap.

its stock arnt they all that long

45 rear springs and redrilled spring perches

acording to mesurments is actually 8.8" longer


a front shaft is slightly too long how much would it be to get one of them shortened any ideas ??

Last one I had made (4years ago) cost me $350, I supplied all the parts as well.

i can do them up here for you , i do a lot of tailsharfts for the comp boys.i use 3mm or 4mm tube. can use thicker if you want. start from $250 for a retube and balance. then prices varie between jobs call me 0438279890

Definately cheaper to shorten a shaft...and where did you get the idea for the checker plate front guards?

umm i ended up with the best part of a spare sheet after doing my rear floor and was planing on doing the guards in just flat alloy

but after 3 weeks i decided stuff it save the money and use what i have and started working on it one night in the shed

no plans no ideas i just decided what i wanted and started cutting LOL

im checking out the wreckers tomorrow someone informs me that a 3 middy front shaft is about the correct length i need so im gonna check the wreckers driveshaft stash out and see if he has anything that will bolt in to save me the hassle of getting mine rebuilt
