tightening front wheel bearings

i took my zook in for a pink slip and i need to tighten the front wheel bearings. (i know i should rebuilt but dun have the time at the moment.i will over crismas but) to tighten the bearings can this be dont with a big shifter or do i need to buy a or borrow a hub socket?

you wont get a shifter in there, you can use a screw driver/chisel and hammer if your short on tools and its cheaper than a socket.

Invest in the socket. If you plan on keeping your zook for any lenght of time, than you'll get planty of use from it.

ok thanks for the advise....where can i get a hub socket from?? just went to the hardware they dont have em.... would scotts spare parts carry em?

My experience is that if my zooks wheel bearings are loose, they're buggered...
If it's already been thought of...
There has to be a better way...

special tool:
if you only have a 1/2 inch drive:-
Transquip Direct 1800 828 200 fax 0894375060 (they prefer to deliver to business address only so someone picks up the package)
50mm socket 3/4" drive (40mm inside reach) KC unit $26.50
Adapter 1/2"female to 3/4" male KTKC1234 $17.54
deliver in Australia. They are on the net.
The reach from the spindle end to the lock nut is 37mm so be careful when buying from another place to measure this internal depth.

I got mine from "Auto One". I messured the size wrong and got a 52mm socket, still does the job. Cant remember how much it was.
