Have you checked to see whether the ball joint between the steering knuckle and the drag link is ok ?

On my LN106 the ball joint was distorted out of shape and this was the reason the drag link was hitting the u bolts...

Check yours ? Is there much free play in your steering ?

You might of already fixed it by now, but if you havent this might help. Check the swivel hub bearings, my wheel was tilting inwards at the top which pushed the steering arm over causing the drag link to hit. The bottom bearing was totally stuffed. Anyway hope u have it fixed.
