Anyone Fitted a 'Chris's 4x4 Accessories' 6' lift kit?

Post by petri »

Hi, i have a lwb GQ with a 3' body lift. I want to install a 'Chris's 4x4 Accessories' 6' lift kit and was wondering if anyone has done this already.

Any difficulties?
Below is the link to the website to see the kit.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

it wasnt the logic of the question that is beyond me. he never said he wanted it engineered, it may be a trailor only rig. he was asking for comments on the suspension components and thats it.

sorry for the crap that has been posted here........

you obviously still dont understand the logic behind the question.. Why does he need a 6in lift... quite simple really..

Also he didnt say it was a trailer queen, and he like 100's of others may not have considered the legal points of it.

whether he needs it or not is irrelevant. He wants it. One day when i can afford it I will be putting Cris' 7" lift under my GU. Not because i need it. Because i want it.

I'm behind bogged on this one.

The reasons behind wanting it are prolly valid to the owner, but this reason is not valid enough for DOT to change the rules to allow this sort of mod, because, basically, you don't need 35's and a huge lift to drive to work, down to the shops etc on the road. You may need these mods for the bush - fair enough, but DOT are not interested in your requirements for the bush, only what is necessary for the road.

Many people honestly and quite innocently do not realise that this sort of height is not legal (hey, I don't care either way), just so long as they are aware of this - even better if the suppplier of the kit notifies or informs the customer of this, not out of legal requirement, but more so out of responsibility and customer care.

Installation of any suspension kit is relatively straightforward - a quick search or a troll through the bibles should reveal many helpful tips.
