mating D20 T/case to TF 727 transmission ?

Post by Xtremitys »

Howdy,

i recently bought a 68' J200 4x4 as a project vehicle , it has a 232 , 4 speed box & a Dana 20 case.

I am using the driveline from a 82' cherokee ( AMC 360 , TF 727 ) that i had , alot of people retain the D20 case which i want to keep in there . Have a 208 - but the output to the front axle is on the different side & doesn't match the frontend ,(unless a 241OR Rock-trak comes along )

I want to mate it up to the torque flite - does anyone have or know of the conversion part/kit that mates the two ???

Any help would be greatly appreciated

cheers
Rick

- NP 208 is out of the cherokee ( AMC 360 > TF 727 > NP208 ) that i have , wrecked the cherokee for parts .

- dana 20 is in the J seies ( AMC 232 > T18 > D20 ) is my current project , plan to take out the 232 & T18 and replace them with the AMC 360 & TF 727 , leaving the D20 there !

conversion kits

its a shame you dont have the cherokee driveline that has a th400 as i have an adaptor for the th400 to the d20 case. i do know that marks does adaptor kits for these combos but they are in the old advance adaptors range so it takes some searching..

other than that u could pickup a th400 amc pattern box and buy my adaptor if it suited

goodluck mate

You may need to get a tail housing from a TF727 inc bull gear.
