Anyone know if it's legal to cut holes in inner guards to accept a higher shock hoop?

So you're saying run the hoops through from the outside into the engine bay or have your hoops coming from inside the engine bay and just the shocks going through the inner guard?

If they can't be left with a hole in the inner guard, is it ok to "tub" the guards with some extra sheet metal?

just cut the crap outta the inner guards so that u can get the hoop and shock how u want it and then wem its all done then put the rubber over the hoop and screw it 2 the guard so that there isnt a hole there anymore.

or u can tub it but its way more work

Now I get what you're saying hypo. I thought you meant that I should cut the rubber so that it fits around the hoops and shock and stuff rather than just flexing it over the top of the whole assembly.

Thanks dude!

If it was Rangies would be illegal - their shock towers go inside the engine bay through a gaping hole in the inner wheel well.. Which you have to cover up eventually to stop the crap getting all over your plugs... do it.

Just for peoples information....

This mod has been pre-approved by my engineer :D

If anyone else wants to do the same - check with an engineer as it cannot be done on all vehicles although probably ok on most 4wds.
