Is anyone using the threaded holes in the floor of their Disco for tie-down points?
I know they're a 7/16" UNF thread, but i'm not sure if there's such a product that provides a tie-down point and only requires one bolt.
And i'm not too keen on making new holes right above the fuel tank.
I have been looking at tie down points with my Rangie....with a baby on the way I have been looking at where to mount the baby capsule.....Safe and Sound make a tie down hook..About $10 really strong and only requires on bolt.
I used them I purchased recessed D anchors from the local hardware store and drilled a hole through the middle to fit the 7/16" UNF bolt. Trimmed the carpet to let the anchor sit flat.
Here is a picture of one of the rear ones. There are 4 in total. The front ones are just at the back of the rear seat (under the liner in the photos).
Series II Discoverys have tie down points in the back. They are "D" shape like in the above photo but are held in by 1 bolt. Not sure if the bolt size is the same though

That is held down by one bolt. It is the stock official tie down location. I'm sure there were official tie downs. But those cost $3 and you can buy them anywhere. Makes much more sense in my mind.....

Definetly agree, just saying the Series II ones were there for those that may want the "genuine" part.

i run a strip of 20x10fms past both wheel arches. it has 2 holes in
both pieces that eye bolts bolt through to the bolt holes you mention.
two at the rear and two neer the wheel arches.
I ended up using right angle brackets with a hole on either side.
I've got no carpet so it worked well, would have used something else if I was keeping the carpet in though.
