has any one had a zook that one week after a coolant change has run so hot that it blow a hose and cracked the radiator even when running a thermo of a v8. I did this yesterday at stocko after only 3 dunes

. also any one got a good condition radiator

A thermo is not a fail safe method to avoid overheating. A motor should run at normal temp standard in normal situations. Was it overheating on the road, or did it just heat up on the beach. When you put the new radiator back in, be sure to check over the motor for what caused the overheat. The thermo might be masking another problem.

If your thermostat is faulty and sticks closed wont this cause an overheating problem?? im not sure but have heard somthing along those lines.

your radiator might have had a blockage?or if thermostat not working engine will just keep getting hotter and hotter check that first happened to me i put the thermostat in boiling water and didnt open at all now with new thermostat runs cool as

check the oil it might be a head gasket

That could be the problem. Check the thermostat opening temperature of the one you have fitted with the specs for the Suzi.

Alternatively, it is fairly common when flushing a cooling system to clog up the radiator with the crud from the engines water jacket.

hi mate, just bought another zook, same thing. New cap, as the one fitted was the wrong one. then the thermostat seized and cooked the head gasket. bloody cars.

After doing a coolant change run the motor for a few minutes with the radiator cap off to allow any air bubbles in the system to flow and be released as air blocks can occur and cause pressure build up and the cooling system to not flow properly..just another thought.

Check your timing as well, should be 10 degrees BTDC. Too much advance will cause overheating bigtime!
