Fuel pump tuning
Has anyone ever tuned the fuel pump on an Isuzu 2.8? If so is there a thread that I can view on the subject? Cheers
You can lead a horse to water but a pencil must be lead.
Hi there
If you are trying to check your injection timing you will need to go to a mechanic that knows how to check the pump timing with a micrometer in the rear of the pump. There is a specific way to do it.
If you are simply trying to get a bit more umff out of your donk there is a 12 mm nut with a screw in the centre of it at the rear of the injection pump near the cut off solenoid. if you crack off the nut and wind the screw in a touch it will richen your fuel mixture. I have done this on numerous Rodeos and it can make a difference.
If you are not mechanically confident don't touch it as it is easy to stuff your fuel mixtures up. If you are going to have a go make sure that you mark the screw in the centre before you go ahead and on ly wind in the screw a poofteenth at a time as a tiny bit can make a big difference.
P.S, this may effect your fuel economy and if you start blowing alot of black smoke you have gone to far.
Hope this helps, DTS.
