2Qs tailshaft and diff

Post by TOPLUX »

1. is it possible to replace the twin tail shaft with single on a 97 hilux?
2. what are the standard diff ratios on a 97 lux, what is a good ratio to go to, to push 33's and half a ton of work crap?
any advise would be great

1. yes it is but why? the split one gets mostof your tailshaft out of the way of rocks and other nasties that may cause damage.

2 NFI, but you may want to look at Marks adapters site (links page) and see what you can get to lower your gear ratios on and offroad

1) 1 piece is generally stronger, and you dont have to worry about the centre bearing failing.. Any driveline shop should be able to help you out..

2) Most people find 4.88's best for pushing 33's+
