Did Pete A tell you about his trailer issues on the way home ? He did a bearing. Michael Ellem and I were umbrella holders while Pete and TAZZ went all bush mechanic on the trailer At one stage TAZZ suggested he could drive Petes buggy into Tenterfield

Did he tell you about running out of fuel coming out of the park? Mick Ellem and I were stuck behind his monster truck/tow rig while his sub-tank pumped the fuel over. All of this on a hill, too. Of all the places to run out of fuel .

Was certainly a Kool weekend mmmmm and WET
Went there thinking I was goin to spotting in my first comp for Sam Keck.........ended up spotting for Dan (shorty 40) ..... started out great driving to event 1 it went all pear shaped after that ........
After first lookin at the courses I thought that we would of atleast managed to get through them ....they were technical for sure but Dan and I were more so hoping to get some experience ...so the penaltys werent really a factor ....... but how wrong could of I been .......I certainly need a hell of alot more spotting practice thats for sure
I have to opologise to Dan ( SORRY DUDE ) I really feel part at fault with the transfer carnage ..... not only in the spottin theme but also after the repair that I done after our first event front shaft carnage really probally thought more into what was eventually found to be the cause as I shouldnt of gone to town in the welding I performed on the shaft as it woulda been far better to break there again instead of destroying the transfer and gears as what happened in our next and final course
Cant wait for the WE Rock events to start when the dates are all sorted just need my practice once Kecky gets his Buggy completed
A HUUGE to all involved in getting the event up and running .....you all really put a hell alot of work into getting these setup let alone all the wrk behind the scenes ....
To Hans and Heidi thanks alot for the weekend and of course the use of your MIG welder when you had alot on your plate already ...THANKS
To Jamie ( not2.8 ) thanks for atleast letting us (me) use your genny and welder ... although I did end up using Hans ..thanks for offer ..and Tony for asking intially as he knew that jamie was going to bring equipment .
Well done to all the other competitors ...Pete...seem to drive everything effortlessly.....
Adrian seems to be liking the added strength in his new buggy was definatley a pitta that you lost your steering after your roll on sunday
Im sure Tom cant wait to get those DANA 60's under his buggy he will be on the other guys heels for sure bad luck with the breaks dude
And TIM AND BEN well geez dudes it seemed as though you have both been competing in that buggy more so than NEVER Tim you seem to drive anything you get in VERY WELL ( ya little PRICK ) WELL DONE BOTH OF YAS ...
You are certainly going to be hard to beat in your class once your new buggy turns up
And also SAM (strangerover) how long till you have all your employees building RC crawlers after the time you were having driving shorty 40's BLING RC CRAWLER in the rockgarden on friday night
I KNOW I WANT 1 NOW
Enough of the rant
WELL DONE ALL INVOLVED AGAIN

Yep ok but a few gauges out of it plus also took out a few other gears in the case when all the bits went through it all.
Unfortunetly though i found out this evening though that the centre diff housing has to be replaced as it was missing a spacer or washer or something which caused to much movement in all the gears in it and wore a big groove in it which may have caused the implotion
BUt with what we do with them i spose youve got to expect them to break big time when they do brake

Back online my Laptop died last week in Sydney so I've been off line!!!
FIRST I've got to say a BIG THANK YOU to Sam for the ride in Homeless, just shows you don't need to have a world beating rigs just one that will finish the event, we did really well for our first comp and I think we will make a good team that do alright, won't get to BIG HEADED just yet. Case did a great job of spotting just hope he can give up judging and the ride in a moon buggy to spot for me for the WE Rock series and Team Mickey Thompson can support another car this year.
I'm still pinching myself every time I remember the drive up the rock face. and to finish 2nd on Sunday's stages and 4th outright, if hadn't broken on Saturday and finished the other 2 WHO knows what would have happened.
With a bit of support you should see a bit more of Team Ossie Touring & Racing at all the comps.

Yes because the centre diff didnt fail due to lack of oil or misuse. It failed because it was assembled wrong in the first place. It was missing the 2 thrust washers from under the drive gears. So it had way too much back lash and the gears were not meshing correctly. This was in no way caused from too many front diggs.ISUZUROVER wrote:WOW - I notice the Macnamara cross-shaft held up fine!not2.8 wrote:WHAT NOT TO DO TO A LT230 CENTRE DIFF LOCK
Thats right tony i forgot you you must of put it togother since you was not even there went i did it, as you must of not put the washers in your as you have broke two centre diff locks so far.
And as for mine i have had a few comps out of it now like the all terrain rd1,rd3,PUOSU last year,BOTC last year, all the weekend wheeling.
So next time i might get you to do it as yours last 2 or 3 comps.
