Rear diff went clunk and that was it. Didn't sound good at the time but kept driving fine. Still has one large chunk in the front of the carrier somewhere. Can hear it rattle but wont come out. Crown wheel is fine and dandy as is the locker...

diff
Been in it about 18 months with the locker. So about 35-40000k's. Was a front diff out of a 4runner. So as for previous k's, unknown. Driving flat sealed road in 4th at around 60 clicks. Sounded like a rock hit the tail shaft. Checked it when I got home, about 5 k's from the where it clunked, and had around 2mm of fore and aft movement on the pinion. Few marks on the outside of the locker case but the internals are all good.
