Last year QLD round wasn't supposed to happen, it was a last min thing which is why not many teams or spectators turned up.

All i know is i can go to only one of the rounds due to distance and lack of funds, that also sucks cuz i wanna see all the rounds
Do what Cheezy has done in Victoria, form your own competition. You've got the locations.

Kinda sucks having the boot on the other foot, don't it?????

Funny thing is that when it was posted that two event were going to be in QLD people shit their pants because that's where sam lives. Now they are shitting again because the events were changed to better suit the rock crawling community as a whole.

Either way people are never going to be happy. I think it is a good move for the entire sport of rock crawling.

Obviously with where the events are being run this year isnt going to suit everybody - basiclly I just dont have time to do any more - next year will be different. It really has just come down to where I can run events easily and where events are going to grow the sport the quickest. I could have not run the event at SORRA and run it at Crusa Park. This would have spread things around a bit more and got another event for some of the guys up here but I dont think it would have really progressed things much. An preliminary event in Sydney a month before the finals should really make the finals much bigger.

At the end of the day I guess the people that wont do the Sydney/Bathurst rounds with the current schedule still wouldnt do the Sydney/Bathurst rounds even if we had one of them up here. With the current schedule Im hoping we will pick up a few Victorian guys for the entire series.

This is what I want - a group of really decent, well presented cars to complete the entire series leading into the selection of the team to go to the US for the world finals. There is an event every 5 weeks and the series is being covered by 4wd Montly, 4x4 Australia, Dirt Comp, Offroad Action, 4wd TV plus others.......so month after month WE Rock is going to be presented to the Australian people and they are going to learn to know the rigs and the drivier and the spotters, who is good, who is useless, who always rolls, and most importantly who should win. And then they are going to follow these guys to the US to see how they compete against the rest of the world.

People that want to just compete close to Brisbane have got more than enough to keep them entertained this year. We just had PUOSU, there will be 3 rounds of XRCC, 3 rounds of Superior All Terrain plus the one round of WE Rock - so thats 8 events this year.

With the teams that go O/S are you going to try and take their buggies or is their buggies overa there that they can use? I ask this becasue it takes a long time to ship cars O/S.

I promised back in 2004 that we would at least send the vehicles - 2 unlimiteds and 2 limiteds. And yes the buggies will be out of the country for a while (guess 6 weeks there and 6 weeks back plus how ever long they are in the US for) The buggies will basically get packed up very soon after the finals here and would probably get back at the end of the year. Its a long time to be without your rig but if you want to compete against the best in the world then thats what you have to do.

Im also negotiating now as to whether we will be able to pay for the air fairs. I would really love to be able to do this and am working hard to make this happen. Should be able to make an announcement on this in the next week or so.

they can wheel their buggies at moab and that sort of thing can't they. not that i'm going to even have a buggy by then, but do you recon it could be arranged (by individuals not necissarily yourself) to have like an aussie buggy jamboree after the finals, because i can imagine alot of the buggy guys would love to wheel places like that they talk about on pirate. figured you could kill two birds with one stone.

I take it buy the "guess" that you haven`t checked this yet with a exporter/shipping company. I would think this would be something you would what to know as a WITHOUT fail 6 weeks there, cause if they get held up by customs or sit in containers for to long then you could have some very unhappy Aussies on your hands. I know I would be mega pissed if they came out of the docks the day after the finals.

You know sometimes things get held up for months n months on the docks don`t you. Maybe its not as bad sending to the states as it can be getting things in to Aus. But then again with all the security the states have now it could be just as bad if not worse.

Yeah , i suppose he shouldn't have said "guess" as he has been researching all avenues for quite sometime. Why do you think so much work went into the setting of the werock dates, he spent weeks working on every aspect to make sure there is plenty of time allowed for shipping of the buggies to the USA.

Most of you should also understand that Sam really doesn't have a great deal to do with the running of Haultech much anymore :finger: , most of his days (95% of it) is spent organising and researching things to make Werock better and better (the other 5% he plays pool :D ). So if he says he can do something theres a 99% chance it will happen.

ME :D

But yea - the 6 weeks should really only be 4 and we have 12 up our our sleeve.

Nobody would be more annoyed than me if these cars dont make the finals cause they are still in a container.

The cars can be in the USA for up to 12 months without paying any import duty so we could actually leave the rigs there for quite a long time if thats whats wanted.

If you guys wish, we could make a few trips to Famous US trails after the comp is over. Moab is about 5 hours away from Vegas (Where the WC is held) and the Rubicon is about 11 hours away (and about 30 minutes away from my house).

I can make sure we have one hell of a party!
