If I remember correctly you have 4.3 diffs and these will drive 35.5" Q78 no prob. Only problem I find with 36" pedes is in high traction, rocky terrain, 1st low is not quite slow enough to walk it but only just.
Mark's 43% transfer gears for me ...

Marks gear woudl be nice, but again I think normal low range is really handy sometimes.

I got 33 12.5 swampers, they actually measure 34", I find them a lot better than the 35 muddies I had before as far as gearing goes. I've got standard 4.10's and find them pretty good.
Like driving down the road on tractor tyres, I like it but the Mrs gets a bit edgy about driving on them. From my limited experience with "extreme" tyres I was suprised how hard the side walls are, even after dropping heaps of air out they still looked like they had 40psi in em.

The change from current gearing on 33" to Q78s is only about 7.5% increase. I'd be surprised if you even notice. As for me, I'm only running 4.1s with 265/75xR16 then go to 36" pede the ratio changes by about 15%. On road, noticable but I can deal with it as they are only part time tyres, offroad I reckon I've lost a full low range gear (never actually worked it out) which is pretty much what I think Mark's 43% gears will correct plus a bit extra. Anyway, 34x9 is a very skinny tyre. Guy in Yarra Valley ran them on a shorty GQ for a while and to my knowledge didn't have a problem but personally, on 8" rims I'd be going a 10.5 or wider tyre myself. Especially if you don't like reseating beads in the mud ...
