Airlocker Advice

Post by wosat »

A couple of questions for the diff gods :-)

I'm looking at a 2nd hand locker taken out the front of a 85 Hilux. The guy that is selling it reckons that it is a RD02. All of my research tells me that this is wrong and that it must be either a RD01 or a RD23. the RD01 is a 8" diff and a RD02 is a 8.9" diff.
Am I right????

I know that a RD23 suits my ute but will a RD01 fit in the rear of a 2002 Hilux?

Cheers,
Brett

Check it out...

RD23 should go in the rear but youll need either a RD90 or RD111 for the front, which one though i havent got a clue, check the above pdf.

Check with ARB.

It should be an RD01 in the '85 and I'm pretty sure that will fit an '02 rear with the use of the early model side bearings.

ARB should be able to tell you....

Thanks for the reply.

I checked with ARB on Friday and they said it "should" fit.

I want to try and make sure before I shell out any cash. :)

Nah, I didn't win it.
Didn't it take off at the end!
I thought for a while there, nobody was realy interested in it and it would go cheap.

I just hope the winner uses it and just let it go to waste.

yeah i jumped it up about $200 with under 1 minute to go and was winning it at about 30sec mark :D cool - then got smashed in the end.

Wasn't going above $550 though - very limited description and been burned b4 that way. Was taking it with a grain of salt.
