AFAIK the roll bar (just behind the seats) is the only part that is meant to provide rollover protection, the rest is just to support the body and windscreen.TLCOR wrote:I'm sorry to be the first one to say this, but the cage looks ugly, weak and VERY little functional, also, is that galvanized pipe ? I wouldn't be the one to sit in that cage during a roll. No offence, though.

That is correct, and that and the body are the only things not custom made, it was supplied by Bruce Davis.ISUZUROVER wrote:AFAIK the roll bar (just behind the seats) is the only part that is meant to provide rollover protection, the rest is just to support the body and windscreen.TLCOR wrote:I'm sorry to be the first one to say this, but the cage looks ugly, weak and VERY little functional, also, is that galvanized pipe ? It will be watertight when finishedzuffen wrote:I note you have your ECU sanwiched in the side of the vehicle beside the drivers seat.
This area of my DAKAR (built by John Davis) is far from water, or even, weather proof.
I'd be a little concerned for its longevity.
I run my ECU behind the glovebox as that looks about the driest place in a DAKAR. "driest" is a relative word. That means it doesn't flood!
Build quality sure looks good.
Could have something to do with the site they are on.ISUZUROVER wrote:Looks much better with the body on.
Thos pics are bloody slow to load though, and I am on a very vary fast connection... must be the time it hakes for the pictures to travel to Germany...
New i think the are about 15k for the body and roll cage. The rest is custom.midnight wrote:Slightly off topic but...
