The 4 and 5 speed boxes are essentially the same, the 5th gear on the 5 speed box is really just an overdrive hanging off the end off a standard daihatsu 4 speed box.
You will need the 5 speed drive shafts though, because the 5 speeds output is about 100 mm further back than the 4 speeds.
Search other posts on OL, as this, and the associated gear lever mods have been covered before.

Bell housing to put a 5 speed box onto your 12r motor?
Just use the bell housing off your old 4 speed box, it will bolt right up.

The engine mounts for the 2.8 diesel are bigger than the 12r mounts and are in a different position as it's a much bigger engine, and since you're going to be welding your chassis to fit in a 2.8, maybe that chevy v6 isn't such a bad idea after all?

As it happens I might have a reco 12r down here in Melbourne, one of my mates thought he needed it, but as it turns out I think it's just sitting around unused. Don't know what courier costs to Candida would be though.
