V8 and 5 speed in MQ

Post by reggie »

Just wondering if anybody can offer me an answer to this one (before I start pulling things out).
I have an MQ SWB with the L28 and 4 speed and have acquired a LWB MQ with a V8 and 5 speed gearbox and bellhousing adapter (body is real crap). Is the swap of the 5 speed and V8 a simple bolt in job into the SWB ie use the same mounts for the motor and gearbox and maybe just shorten/lengthen the drive shafts.

id say the mounting will be off :)

simple as cutting off the old mounts bolt the new ones to the motor so when you lower it in can tack it all up on the chasi then take motor out and run full welds on them
probly have tyo do the same for the gbox and

shorten or legthen the drive shafts

when is all done take to engineer he must be happy with and the saftey of work and should pass with a smile on face if its spot on
