Gearlever removal of MQ box

Post by reggie »

Hi,
Just wondering if anybody could tell me how to remove the gearlevers from the gearbox while it is still attached to the mounts. I have access to the levers from the top.

yea, for the main lever just unscrew the collar on top of the gearbox, anti clockwise, you could use a pin punch and hammer or some vise grips, it then lifts out.
For the transfer lever just get underneath and there is a cotter pin and a nut (like on the old push bike cranks) at the bottom of the lever undo the nut, tap out the pin - it may be a bit seized and wiggle the lever off to the side.
There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots
