After a rather wet experiance my hella 4000's had water in them.
I know they do it every time, but has anyone come up with
a way of sealing them.
At a guess i think sikafleks/selastic and breathers are a start?.

Any taker's

I have had water up the the windscrene on my Gu and not got water in my 4000's.
I would check how well the front ring is mated to the body of the light. The other potential problem spot could be the dodgy plug at the rear. Not sure what you could do with that.

hi were they turned on when this happened if so the instant cooling of the light causes them to suck water in rather them just leaking ipf and maybe a couple of others make a special light which are submersible when on .otherwise id recomend maybe taking them to a dealer and seeing about an exchange. as top of the line hella they shouldnt leak under normal conditions if they wernt switched on . hope this helps a bit muds

It way early in the morning (7am).They were nice and cool.
A mate who was with us had same problem with same lights.
We are looking into making gaskets or using silastic ect,and adding a breather. :?:

Sounds strange though, as if the ring-glass-housing aren't matched /machined properly. As I said before, mine have never leaked doing large bog holes nd deep river crossings. But the headlights on the GU have leaked and have been replaced under warrenty.
I have been consideringputting breathers on the headlights but can't see the point if waters getting in when they aren't turned on.

I would try getting them swapped over, if they're not too old.
Failing that, try using gasket sealent around the ring and glass.
