What is the open lenght of everyones rear shocks? Mine are 700 with only a 2" lift.

Mine are "only" 655 and I aint used all mine. I have mine on a Rangie and the mounts are raised(as any shock this long would have to be). I have a 2 inch spring lift and about 2.3 inch body lift with 35's, on full up travel I scrub hard. I believe this is because the trailing arms are yet to be cranked (to be done this weekend)
What shocks are they anyway and any chance of a pic of these shocks in action? I'll show you mine if you show me yours

Not every lift is what it is said to be
Just look at the bush, if you can see that the rubber/metal ring is not sitting flush with the mount then it is overstressed, or going to limit travel

Hell yeah, my bushes are under compression just sitting you only have to look at it to see that it's limiting downward travel.
I'll draw a picture of what I'm doing with my trailing arms, scan it and PM you the picture(I'm not keen on posting it as my skills as an artist are limited, and I'm not real good at accepting criticism if the idea sucks)

The Disco 2 runs an eye type bush at the chassis rather than the pin style in the rear and front, so there is no need to crank them. When articulating it doesn't use the full 10" travel on the rear as the rates are 300-340lb/in with radius arm type links. I'm actually not a believer in bending them at all as I think it produces a weakness in the link that will always be there even with gussetting. I've seen too many rear links fail when used hard. Why don't people use HD link and offset bushes at the chassis? I've not seen any cranked front radius arms though.

Here we are. A rear link spacer. The plate below are machined to an uneven thickness which causes the downward tilt.

I've not seen any cranked front radius arms though

Yep, I actually wanted 710's but couldn't find any to suit. The upper mounts are rasies 1.5" to go with the bodylift, lower mounts are in the stock position (For a Rover) but on the cruiser diff. 1985 RR.mangie wrote:700 Are you using the full stroke ?

The springs are retained top and bottom and they go way past being loose to being under tension.

I have on order a set of Edelbrock XT Remotes for my D2 Disco from Sean at ABT4x4. They have 10.75" stroke at 16.2" closed & 26.95" open (685mm). I have about a 3.5" lift. I am going to be one of the guinea pigs for ABT4x4 as I am also going to be buying the JRZ units also to adjust the valving rates to give us feed back for future customer settings then I can use the JRZ units on my comp D1 when it is finished.
