cracked valve cover on feroza/u.s. rocky
Does anyone know if its possible, and if so how, to weld the valve cover. Back rear corner has broken off. Not just the flat ear piece, but a small part of the dome as well. Leaks oil as you can imagine (1 quart/1000 miles.) Just wondering if anyone else has done this and how...thanks.
If you cant find a replacement cover, there is product you can buy for repairing things like this, its called SELLYS knead it. Im sure you can get an equivalent product in the states.
Thats what I used on mine when it cracked, it worked great. But I eventually replaced it.

Dont expect mere proof to sway my opinion.
Take the cover to a shop that can TIG weld it with argon gas.Kickingback99 wrote:thanks, wreckers wanted $65 for a cover...so i thought i would try having it welded...more interested in getting rid of oil leak than it looking pretty...thanks again...
But it needs to be pointed out that the alloy used on these things are crap, therefore it may not work.
